Community Involvement

Our team actively encourages local businesses and suppliers to strengthen economic ties with the community through collaborations such as the creation of Anantara Experiences, partnerships with local community agents, and the implementation of a range of sustainable policies and practices with our network of suppliers. We’re committed to providing a platform for local producers, including local citrus fruit producers for the marmalades we serve; local brewers who make the light and spicy craft beer we offer; and the only gin distillery that uses botanicals from the Amalfi coast. Additionally, we showcase local ceramics, highlighting the craftsmanship of our community.

Dollars for Deeds

Through the Dollars for Deeds international program, we collaborate with our guests to fund impactful local community projects using a straightforward approach. For each night of your stay, €1 is donated to selected local initiatives, and Anantara matches this donation with an additional €1. This funding cycle redefines purposeful travel, creating positive, sustainable impacts on local communities for generations of residents and travelers alike. Partnering with the local NGO ACARBIO, we are dedicated to preserving the Amalfi Coast biosphere and heritage through youth projects.

Commitment to Heritage

Our unique setting, dating back to 1214, originally served as a convent for Cistercian monks. Over the centuries, historic architectural additions, including the Arab-Norman cloisters, have enhanced its charm. We are dedicated to preserving this Amalfitan monument and collaborate with the Centro di Cultura e Storia Amalfitana, a cultural association devoted to safeguarding the Amalfi Coast's historical and artistic heritage. By working closely with local authorities, including on the recent restoration of the frescoes and marble columns, we remain committed to protecting Amalfitan heritage.

The Chefs Garden

The Convent Garden of the ancient monastery has been reinstated to supply the Dei Cappuccini Restaurant with natural, fresh ‘0-km’ produce and to give our guests a unique experience, a celebration of genuine Mediterranean flavours in gourmet creations that reinterpret the classics of Italian cuisine.

A unique monastic retreat where relaxing and beautifying therapies are inspired by the stunning surroundings. Our expert therapists use natural, locally sourced lemon essence and citrus oils to revitalize and restore your balance and well-being as you gaze out over the Mediterranean.
